Date Night: Cirque de Symphonie

Wow! I had a smile on my face the entire evening. The hall was beautiful, musicians amazing and the talents of the performers where breathtaking. Even though I have been here all my life this was my first time attending the Jacksonville Symphony. It has left me wondering, "what in the world took me so long?"

By good fortune, my wonderful friend Camille had given us two tickets to the Cirque de Symphonie on Friday and in even greater fortune we where able to arrange for babysitters for all the kids (awesome!) I had been looking forward to our date night all week- getting all dressed up, a nice dinner and adult time :)

After dropping the boys off with his brother (baby girl was spending quality time with Papa), Adam came home with sushi and a bottle of wine- oh, I love him so much! We had a very lovely dinner and then off to our first symphony we went.

I can not say enough about how much I thoroughly enjoyed the music and all of the acts (and was very impressed with the tamborine player!)...there was juggling, aerial artists, contortionists and two of the most impressive strong men I have ever seen- balancing one another at heights and difficult positions but making it look so graceful and effortless. I felt like a kid at the circus, but this was so much better than the circus!!!

The only sad thing is that they are only in town for two shows so everyone will not get to see and experience this wonderful performance right here in Jacksonville- but after getting a little taste of the quality of our Jacksonville Symphony I flipped through the program to see what was coming up next that would catch my eye... and there's a ton over the summer, and I can not wait for The Music of Micheal Jackson in October, The Nutcracker and The Polar Express in December and more...I think I am hooked :)

Here's a link to a video of the Cirque de Symphonie- enjoy :)
