New Year's Teaser

Wow- we are already nearly halfway through January in the New Year 2010!!!! What an amazing year 2009 turned out to be but 2010 is already set to outdo it.... 2009 brought (so far)the strongest business growth (thank you to all my wonderful clients!), but also personal growth with amazing friendships (both new and old) and growing family :)

I am so thankful that we were able to set aside a large part of December and really take time as a family traveling to New York and New Jersey for the Holidays and to start building my Discovering America portfolio (more about that later). God has given me such a wonderful opportunity and I do not want to loose focus on what true success is- living for Him and the precious moments we have together with our family and friends.

I have tons of pictures to share of our time up north...the boys first time in the snow and Hud's trip to the Big Apple. There's also even more to share about how AWESOME the Photog Retreat was in the Bahamas, needless to say fasten your seat belt because 2010 is off to an explosive start with so much to share and even more not even mentioned yet...so to everyone I want to wish a very happy and prosperous 2010!
For now, here's a few from the boys first sledding expidition...

Real Weddings: Geneva and Kyle

Sometimes it's best to let images speak for themselves. The love and excitement Geneva + Kyle had for each other the day of their wedding is what all couples dream about... the feelings of finally, this is the one!
I was very excited when Geneva told me their plans to see each other before the ceremony so we arranged a "first look" and it was so sweet to see and hear them laugh with anticipation in every step. Not only did it give them time to relax and pray together before the ceremony, but we where also able to knock out all the formals so right after the ceremony the celebration began :)

Here are a few more favorites from the day...slideshow coming soon!

Chase & Brody on the Farm

OK- I have to get a handle on these "sneak peaks", ha! I can not possibly just pick one and once I got started on editing these two cuties I just could not stop :)
So here they are...Chase and Brody spending some time at their Great Grandfather's farm...

Sneak Peek: Briana & Brandon's Ceremony

There's one detail that really stood out while I was choosing some images for Bri and Brandon's sneak peek- their overall love and joy in joining their lives together was first and foremost in every image! The original plan was to select just a few for a little sample of their day, but as you will see it was hard to choose...so instead I am sharing the images that best sum up the fun, emotion and spirit of their beautiful ceremony! Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek (extended version)...slideshow and online gallery coming soon!

Real Weddings: Edward and Tracy

Every wedding is special and no ceremony is quite the same. Edward and Tracy's was no exception. Theirs was one of the most unique and personal ceremonies we have been a part of. Lovely scripture and words of encouragement shared by loved ones with the couple. There were laughs, sighs and tears as the moment finally came for them to say "I do".

It was hard to choose the right images for this post because I think to see the entire slideshow is the only way to get the entire picture of this beautiful moment- so, I choose just a couple of my favorite shots before the ceremony...
so you can get right to the good stuff...Their Slideshow :)
just click the image below and enjoy

Tracy and Edward, thank you so very much for inviting us to be with you and witness this wonderful moment! You both took care and planned every detail perfectly- right down to the reception celebration. May God Bless you and keep you always close to Him in your walk together. Love you both!

Real Weddings: Laura & Chad

Sometimes it's hard to decide just where to begin a love story, there's so much to share, so much background, details that it can be difficult to find that key moment... Laura and Chad have a long history of friendship and love, a background of strong family and friends that support them and now a future that looks brighter than ever as husband and wife. To have a specific starting point is impossible, but what I can do is describe what a wonderful celebration the two had as they united in marriage surrounded by those who love them.
I am continually thankful to be part of such special moments and this wedding was no exception. Laura, Chad (and family!) thank you so very much for inviting me to be a part of such a lovely beginning of a new life together- best of luck and may God bless your future together! XOXO

Real Weddings: Teah & John

The phone rang and when I answered it there was a friendly voice on the other end with a familiar soft country twang (I speak that very well!). It was Teah and she proceeded to explain her wonderful celebration that was coming up with her husband John in St. Mary's, Georgia. She went on the share that they were already officially married in a small private ceremony but where planning an "traditional" ceremony as well. I was so excited to work with the two of them from the moment I heard her sweet voice, she was so joyous and just full of laughter.

Teah and John decided to go with a first look so they could have some special time together before the ceremony together and relax :)I really love how special this time is for the couples because it is a moment that they share with each other and has it's own perfect place in their memories forever!Teah had planed a beautiful waterfront ceremony at a park in St. Mary's and a fun Hawaiian inspired reception. Celebration was the main objective and she along with her family and friends pulled it off without a hitch- well, almost...except for the downpour minutes before the ceremony! But just before the wedding was to start, the sky's cleared and she walked down the aisle to the gentle sound of a strumming guitar as she had planned all along!A quick change in plans and the bridal party walked behind Teah to help save her long train from getting too wet or muddy- it actually turned out really nice the way they were all around her to gently lay it down once she reached the top of the steps.
The ceremony was beautiful- Thank you Teah and John for allowing us to share in your very special day. We wish you all the best and much, much happiness in the future!

Please enjoy the slideshow!

Oregon: Part 1

It's so easy to get caught up in our everyday routines, jobs, to-do lists and overall demands, stress and responsibility of life- what's not easy is taking the time to really step away, relax, recharge and refresh...fourtunatly for me I found a way to squeeze in a little of that a couple weeks ago when I had the wonderful pleasure of attending a Christian Photographer's Retreat for Women-
Be Thou My Vision in Bend, Oregon (ahhhhh)...
Traveling to the West Coast is always a little tricky from Florida because of the time difference, so I had a very creative travel itenary. I chose to fly into Portland and drive the nearly 3 hours to Bend...hold on, I am not crazy- let me explain :)I would have had a 3 hr. layover in Portland just to catch a 45 minute flight to Bend (the 3rd flight of the day) ...AND I also saved nearly $200 on the tickets- so I figured it I was renting a car anyway so I might as well get to see some of Oregon while I was there! The savings just about paid for the rental car. The bonus: I did not loose any time because I would have just been stuck sitting in the airport for that same 3 hours... it was a win-win- win! (not to mention one of the most beautiful drives EVER!!!)

The retreat was lead by Jane Johnson and was really just an idea that blossomed into reality. I was part of 14 women who came from all over the to accomplish the same thing...relax and refocus on what is really important in life- Keeping God first, being assured that He has a plan for us and trusting His will for our lives.
We all arrived on Sunday, checked in to the lodge and met up for an evening reception and to get to know each other. Jane had made gift bags for us with a journal, gift from Big Folio and chocolates- yum!
After dinner we informally sat in a circle and shared our testimonies and our history in photography- right away I knew we were all meant to be there and it would be such an enriching experience!Every morning after breakfast we had our quiet time and then would meet back for the morning session together. Early on in the week Heather and I discovered this great little area by the pond that (besides the bugs was) so peaceful- she had a nice spot further down by the water and I really liked this big rock. I had a great view, could hear all the sounds of nature and for the most part the mosquitos stayed away (though they would coordinate some attacks every now and then-ha!)

The morning sessions were just awesome, emotional and so simple in the ways we shared with each other what was on our hearts. We encouraged each other with our own expereinces and by sharing verses that helped us in every kind of situation.
In the afternoons after the morning sessions we had tons of free time to explore Bend...Browse, Shop and have lunch together :) The first day we had lunch at Typhoon ( a Thai bistro) and the second day we went for Mexican...yummmmy!!!
As always the time flew by and the retreat was coming to an end as the last of our 4 days together was quickly approaching! Ohhh, how much fun we had as we all grew closer together and to God! What a great group of ladies and I am so blessed to have 13 new and wonderful friends- love you girls!!!Our Awesome Group...Back Row: Beth, Erin, Krista, Memoree, Jasmine, Janine, Alicia Front Row: Jackie, Mery, Jane, Me :), Scarlett, Kylie and Heather

More to come about the workshop and also tons of pictures of my scenic drive back to Portland!
