Skip the Nap :)

Summer is winding down as Fall starts to roll in and the boys have went back to school. Our whirlwind summer adventures are still fresh in my mind and each day we spend running here and there only reminds me more and more how quickly the time goes by.
This afternoon, instead of naps we let the boys stay up, play a little longer and headed out for some fun pics for the great grandparents (well, and for grandparents + mommy and daddy, too!)...
Hudson has always been more patient and absolutely adores his baby sister so naturally there's more of him playing with her and being a wonderful big brother. I can't help but feel that one day he is going to treasure these pictures with her even more than we do! Noah gets business done and then moves on to the next thing on his agenda- he makes me laugh (and cry-ha!). He is master of his own little world and I love and admire his spirit- but darned if that little guy does not just wear us out, pheeeeww!Here are a few more of my favorites and I know I say it all the time... but I really, really, really can not believe how fast they are growing. I am sooooo unbelievably blessed to have such a wonderful family and to do what I love- thank you all for sharing it with me :) XOXO!

Summer Reading

One thing that I L-O-V-E about summer vacations is that I get to pick out a book to read on my trip. It is funny that this is the only time I "allow" myself to not work during any down time on emails, blogs, editing, etc. Seems like I have an unwritten rule that my email has to be on auto responder before I give myself permission to really relax and take time away from work.

This summer I have had the immense pleasure of finishing two wonderful books (The Shack and The Help) and loving every minute of reading them!

The one featured this week {The Help} I picked up in Marco Island during our last vacation of the summer. Bought it on Thursday and finished by Sunday- yes, it was that good...I was finding any free moment to read through a few pages (and chapters) while the kids where splashing in the pool, napping and after they went to sleep at night...and of course on the drive home).

Now stay tuned for the good stuff...the book review itself: The Help (full review tomorrow!)

Summer Fun {with Hailey}

Meet Hailey Bug...
There's just something about summer than brings out the kid in all of us. Part of what I love about summer and having kids is that they give you the freedom to relive your childhood; not only through watching them play and laugh, but they give you permission to be silly again and enjoy the simple moments in life.
Here's some fun that I got to have with little Hailey while the boys enjoyed jumping in the bounce house (thanks Uncle Jeremy!) and Micheli enjoyed a nap on the lawn.

She was such a cutie pie, rolling in the grass and exchanging silly faces and tickles as our fun turned into a little mini session of giggles and her little sister Macey watched :)

This summer we have had a great time with the kids and those around us who are truly family to us (calling them friends just would not do it justice). Over the next few weeks, we'll share a little bit of what the boys (and baby Micheli) have been up to this summer :)
